Urban Nails is a wonderful, girly nail salon that’s easy on the wallet. When you arrive you're told to pick your polish colour from either the OPI or Essie lines on display. If you’re there to have your piggies polished, you are shown to a very comfortable, big message chair and get to soak your feet in the whirlpool bath with coloured lights. The pedicurist removes your old polish, dots on cuticle cream, trims your nails and cleans up your cuticles (if you don’t want them cut, they will gladly, gently push them back for you). You then have the option of having the blade or just the pumice stone used on your calluses/dry areas before you get the most heavenly leg and foot message. They use both oil and cream and message from your knee all the way down to the tips of your toes! After a thorough rinsing, your toes are based coated, polished and top coated then you’re seated at the back of the salon under a nail dryer where you can finish your beverage and read a magazine.
The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very laid back but professional. You can ask for your own tools which are stored in a case with your name on it ready for next time. If you like having nail art on your toes, make sure to ask for Steven when you book your appointment as he does great work (evident when three of the staff gathered around my feet while he painted on daisies). Manicure $15; pedicure $25; free hand art $8+; full leg & bikini wax $50
