I Don't Like Summer

Summer is slowly arriving (take your time) so that means heat, humidity, sun and high UV indexes. I've recently switched my skincare routine to reflect this fact and no longer rely on my daily moisturizer with SPF15. Having oily skin is a challenge on the best of days, but throw in the fact that it has to be slathered in sunblock makes me want to never leave the house.
Luckily, I endlessly read magazines and pay close attention to the ads for new products. Last year (or the year before) Neutrogena came out with their Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock. It comes in three different SPF levels and I use the highest (available in Canada) at SPF55. LOVE the stuff! Gives me great protection from the sun without being greasy, feeling heavy or causing my face to break out. The one thing dermatologists recommend to all their clients is sunscreen. Not only does it help to prevent skin cancer but it also helps to prevent premature aging.
I give sunscreen full credit for the reason I can lie about my age so convincingly.
As for the heat and humidity, the only thing that works is staying inside where there's central air. I don't even try to do battle with my hair. That's what headbands and ponytail holders are for.
